The Apprenticeship program includes being in the classroom for only 6 hours a week and paid on-the-job training. So, what exactly is an apprenticeship program?
The Electrical Apprenticeship program is a 4-year calendar program where you will have on-the-job training at various locations with multiple contractors. Being exposed to different size jobs and contractors throughout the program gives you a better idea of what direction you would want to go in upon completion. This 4-year program also requires class time once a week where you learn more of the technical knowledge and training of the industry. Each year, upon passing the classroom activities and good standing in the field, the apprentice receives an hourly pay increase until they finish school and become a Journeyman Wireman. Upon becoming a Journeyman, there are many career paths that can be taken including Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent, Estimator, Project Engineers, and Project Managers.
